Blame parents and teachers for examination malpractice – Tain NPP Secretary.

The constituency Secretary for the New Patriotic Party in Tain, Hon. Adama Kulibaly has blamed parents and teachers for examination malpractice and mass failure in the examinations conducted by examination bodies in the country.

The party secretary was reacting to ’causes and effects of examination malpractices’, especially to the commencement of the 2021 BECE writing.

According to him (Kulibaly), a teacher at Nsawkaw State Senior High School, said some parents often induced teachers to help their children to cheat in examinations.

“If students can be encouraged to learn, knowing that no one would assist them during exams, they would definitely study,’’ he said.

He suggested additional motivation for teachers to make them reject financial inducement from parents who encourage malpractices, and called for collaboration between schools and officials of the Ministry of Education to monitor examinations properly.

“The idea of examination malpractices starts with the knowledge of parents.
Parents are certainly behind the problem because they encourage their children to pay agents for special treatment level,’’ he expressed.

“Some parents even pay as much as ₵5000 to agents who negotiate with invigilators and supervisors,’’ he claimed.

He expressed his sadness on students who have evolved new ways to cheat, despite WAEC’s anti-malpractice measures.

He told Nana Yaw on ”kuro mu Nsem” Osimpamfm morning show on laziness on the part of student’s situations which force them to engage in examination malpractices.
