The chief of Wassa Ateiku in the Wassa East district of western region Ogyeadie Kwaku Gyabeng II has described the move by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of the republic to build a national cathedral in honour of God as meaningless unless the anti- LGBTQ+ bill in parliament is fully passed into law.

Ogye-adie Kwaku Gyabeng II disclosed this during an interview with Osimpam FM New’s Raymond Kwofie
He said, God to whom the national cathedral is being built for, completely frowns on man to man and woman to woman marriage, hence, he would never be pleased for honouring him with a cathedral whereby the people in the country may practice what is abomination to Him(God).
Ogye-adie Kwaku Gyabeng II therefore urged the parliamentarians not to be deterred by any internal or external forces to disapprove the bill before them in parliament.
Ogye-adie Kwaku Gyabeng II also advised his fellow chiefs to stop endorsing particular political parties during electioneering campaigns.
Chiefs should rather lobby for developments in their communities instead of declaring publicly their support for a particular political party.
