ECOWAS Parliament to Boost Local Economy-Afenyo Markin
Over 300 people including MPs, expects, and ECOWAS staff, are expected to grace this year’s ECOWAS Parliament conference in Winbeba.
The member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin who disclosed this in an interview with Okweame Kojo Abrantsea, on Osimpam fm to begging his working visit to project sites in the Constituency, noted that this will help boost the local economy.

He indicated that his wish is to make his constituent independent, hence, called on them to liaise with their assembly members in other for him to know their needs and address it appropriately, rather than they using deception and liars to request for help.

Hon. Markin who doubles as the Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, used his visit to launch the 2023 Best Teacher Awards, slathered for the 26th of May, 2023,with a cash donation of Ghc,200,000, and additional donation of 50,000 for quiz competition.
He later visited over ten on going project sites,including Libraries, Community centres,School blocks, new GRA office,Civil Service Centre,and Health centres.
A teacher expressed appreciation to the PM for instituting the award scheme to appreciate them, adding that it feels good to be recognised for your efforts.
He however, appealed to the award vetting Committee to select deserving teachers but not based on favourites.
At the Winneprah North cluster of schools,
Students were motivated by the MP to take serious interest in their studies in other to be a greater person than himself.
The students chanted, “do the do’ at the MP during his visit to the shool.
