As part of measures to curb crime rate in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region, NANA EFFAH OPINAMAN lll, on his initiative has break grounds for Commencement of a Police station in Nkawkaw – Abepotia to aid in reducing criminal activities within the Abepotia enclave.
In a short ceremony witnessed by the Nkawkaw Divisional police Commander, government officials, entire traditional leaders of Obomeng Kwahu and people of the Abepotia Community and it environs.
Speaking at the event, NANA EFFAH OPINAMAN lll, Kwahu Obomeng Chief, ”said the police station will ensure proper security in Abepotia Community and it environs when constructed”.
The Odikro of Abepotia Nana Nkansah Agyekum l, expressed, there are a lot of challenges at the area including Criminal activities and show his Joy of Nana Effah Opinaman lll, support to Construct Police station Post at the area and therefore said he will do everything to support the overlord of the Kwahu Obomeng Chieft to bring build the police station.
Nana Nkansah, further stressed,” crimes keeps on occurring and whenever he hears of any criminal activities in the area, he becomes helpless and with the Construction of the Police station the rampant crimes will reduce”.
The Assembly member of Abepotia electral area Hon. S. D. A Owusu Boateng , address his people that, it has been their challenge for long time about the insecurity issues in the area and knows the police station will serve as a means to combat any criminal activities in they area.
The Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, Supt. Victor Kwakye, assured Nananom of their assistant protecting the people of the area with the Construction police station Building.
He called on Nananom and the general public to feed them an information to combat crime in the District.
