For President Mahama’s hypocrisy exposed-MP, Patrick Boamah
The Member of Parliament for Okaikwe Central, Hon. Patrick Boamah, has accused the banking industry of being responsible for the collapse of the industry.
“Some misused or misapplied monies giving them by government for recapitalization, it was for these reasons that government took a bold step to do a clean up in the sector, “he stressed.
The MP who doubles as the Vice Chair-person for Finance Committee in parliament made the observation in an exclusive interview with Osimpam fm’s Kofi Nkum, on ‘Ghana Ntsi’.
He expressed confidence in the current governor of the Bank of Ghana, and was hopeful that he will ensure a clean banking system in the country.
Responding to World Bank’s country director’s admissions that they were satisfied with Ghana’s audit report on usage of COVID funds, and attribution of economic challenges to bad Power Purchase agreement by the former president Mahama, he said, the dishonesty of the former president has been exposed by these singular response.
“No government who wish to stay in power for long, will wish doom for her country, we are working to still renegotiating some of these PPA’s,” he added.
According to him his dream, is to create employment and improve education in his constituency, which was why he is, in collaboration with Ghana Telecom University, training over 500 graduates and supply 20,000 reading books to both public and private schools.
