According to the Deputy Majority Leader, the ‘Effutu Dream’ is geared towards improving the lives of the people to contribute to national development.
“Social Media may destroy the future of your children if you fail to discipline them but rather pampa them when they are wrong”.
The teacher cannot do much hence, cannot be blamed if parents fail to play their role, therefore plead With parents to remember that the adolescent stage is the most critical in their child’s life hence there’s the need to exert authority to control your wards at this stage otherwise your efforts will be in vain”.
The Member of Parliament for Effutu, Hon Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin, gave these admonishing at the commissioning and Handing over of a fully furnished three-unit classroom block for the A.C.M School, Sankor-Winneba.
According to him the ages between 11 and 19 years are the most tempting, which if care is not taken with decisive authority, the child may go wayward, adding that these are the times the child may want to experiment because they have discovered themselves and have become more conscious of themselves.
He reminded mothers of the pain they go through during pregnancy and childbirth, thus, calling on them not to cover up for their children when they go wrong.
He reminded the constituency of the infallibility of humans,
“We are subject to making mistakes, however, we should remember that we will give an account of our stewardship as leaders, “he stressed.
He expressed sadness that some political leaders live a sorrowful life after leaving political office simply because they lived selfish lives, and amassed personal wealth at the expense of the development of individuals they serve and their communities at large.
“If you steal from the people you have sworn an oath to serve, you end up spending the money you stole on treating multiple diseases”, he added.
He maintained that the commissioning of the classroom block is a reflection of the Effutu Dream, which is founded on four principles, that is, Security, Education, and Health Care delivery for his people and private sector development.
He encourages leaders in society, both political and religious to contribute the little they can for the betterment of society.
The Effutu Municipal Education Director, Mrs. Mabel Judith Micah, acknowledged the massive contribution of the MP towards education, thus, calling on parents to encourage their children to take their education seriously.
According to her education gives freedom and equity to all, hence is no wonder that the MP has made it a singular commitment to improve educational infrastructure in the municipality, in addition to supplying books, and laptops providing library facilities among others.
She assured the MP, Chiefs, and people of the municipality of observing a high maintenance culture to ensure the longevity of the building and auxiliary facilities.
