The Central Regional Secretary of The Ghana Journalist Association,Nana Buadu, has reminded Journalist of their responsibility to use their medium to ensure development, promote peace and unity in the country.
“Whilst guarding yours,it equally your responsibility to safe guard that of others”.
Mr. Buadu said this on Osimpam fm Morning Show, “Me Man Ntsi”, as the world marks world freedom day today.
According to him it is disturbing how some Journalist are taking advantage of freedom of speech to spew garbage
He reminded Journalist that despite the repeal of the criminal libel, journalists can be prosecuted if they suffer verbal diarrhea and make comments that are defamatory, they will be put before court to answer for their actions and may subsequently be jailed should they failed to provide evidence.
