Stop Cheating us, Nenyi Ghartey tells companies
The Omanhen if Effutu Traditional Council, Nenyi Ghartey VII, has cautioned Companies and individuals cashing in on the Aboakyir Festival without authorization from the traditional council to stop.
According to Nenyi Ghartey,VII, festivals are for communities and it’s people, individuals don’t celebrate festivals, hence expressed sadness that some unscrupulous individuals front for some companies, take monies from them, lead them to winneba without paying anything to the traditional council who are the organizers of the festival.
In an exclusive interview with Osimpam fm he said, these big companies who have refused to support the council are intentionally attributing it to the current economic situation in the country.
Wishing his subjects a happy Aboakyir Celebration, he called on them to pursue peace and be reminded that whatever they do may affect the municipality, positively or otherwise.
“Every year comes with it’s own omen hence, let’s preserve what our forefathers handed over to us’, he stressed.
Nenyi Ghartey called on his people to contribute their individual quota to the success of the festival, they should celebrate in moderation, but not of too much wine and food to disturb their health and also find themselves in trouble.
In a related development, the Commercial Manager fot MTN Ghana, Western and Central, on behalf of the company has made a donation of GHc 15,000, to Effutu Traditional Council in support of Aboakyir festival Celebration.
