Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Cape Coast North and South have insisted that the NPP Government should provide them with the projects they promised during the manifesto launch.
Addressing the media, Cape Coast South NDC Secretary and Convenor of the groups, George Justice Arthur said, on August, 22nd 2020, His Excellency Dr Mamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, made an emphatic statement and pronouncements on UCC Campus during the Manifesto launch of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), and we quote “People of Cape Coast. I have a good news for you: Next NPP government will build a Harbour and a modern Airport in Cape Coast”.
These two major projects were incorporated on page 160 part 4 of the NPP’s 2020 Manifesto which was graciously signed by the President of the Republic of Ghana, who was also the then Presidential Candidate of the Party (NPP).
Also, there are a lot of publications available with the media as well as video and pictorial evidence to duly confirm our claims. We want to play the voices and the video to the world about what the Vice President said.
As a Party that has the interest of the good people of Cape Coast, we are asking the President and his vice to fulfil their commitment and promise to the good people of Cape Coast.
We wish to remind the two gentlemen to be mindful of their Presidential and Vice Presidential Oath sworn before the good people of Ghana as stipulated in the Second Schedule of the 1992 4th Republican Constitution (Forms of Oath) “that they shall be ‘faithful and true to the Republic of Ghana”.
Contrary to this as per provision in Article 69(1)(a) of the same Constitution, they must resign for not being faithful and truthful. Otherwise, they should fulfil such promises because we also deserve to have our share of the National cake.
